About Us

Future Shock was established in 2017 by students from Mingdao High School in Taichung, Taiwan. Guided by our motto, "Up to the future, expand your vision," we aim to foster self-discovery and broaden our horizons through competition. Beyond the field, we are dedicated to promoting STEM education and advocating for sustainability—both in environmental stewardship and long-term talent cultivation.

We recruit students who are passionate and visionary about robotics, with our primary goal being to compete for awards at the FRC World Championship. Our team is organized into three main sub-teams:

  • Mechanical: Responsible for CAD design and robot fabrication.
  • Programming (Software): In charge of writing code and robot control.
  • Administration (Business/PR): Manages public relations and internal operations.

What is FRC?

The FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is organized by the American non-profit organization FIRST and is the largest robotics competition for high school students worldwide.

Each year, based on specific seasonal rules, teams must design and build a robot within six weeks to complete specific scoring tasks. During competitions, teams form alliances with other squads to compete in 3-on-3 matches. The entire process—from design, drafting, fabrication, and assembly to fundraising and team management—is carried out by the students themselves.
